Harlan is from Attawapiskat and he is about five months old. He thought he belonged to someone who loved him but he was wrong. After just a few months of being a family she gave Harlan away. Maybe it was best for him because he was left on his own a lot but that is hard for a dog to understand once he has given his heart away.
When he was given to our rescue worker up north Harlan was confused. He thought it had to be a big mistake. He had seen his person forget where she put her keys and often there was nothing taken out of the freezer for dinner because she had forgotten to plan ahead. This too had to be an oversight so he took it upon himself to escape and find his own way back home. On the way though he was hit by a truck. His person may not have been watching out for him but good fortune was because the only injury he suffered was a broken tooth. Harlan was returned to the rescue worker and he decided to accept his fate.
Since he has been in foster care with us his heart has lifted and this sweet and loving boy still believes that love can last forever. He goes to sleep each night hoping for a new family and imagining what sharing his adoration with them will feel like.
